Blackout
A few weeks ago, I conned my friend Aimee into helping me make curtains. Better put-Aimee made a curtain for me. I sat by and watched as she measured, manipulated, cut, and sewed the fabric Josh and I had picked out for our bedroom. A few days later, I made a second curtain. Now, weeks later, I’m still one curtain short, but after last night, we finally have privacy in our bedroom (not to mention sweet, sweet darkness).
Jude has been waking up earlier than I would like (we’re talking 5:30am–that’s IN THE MORNING PEOPLE), and I think part of the reason why is because our room is so darn bright! Even at 5:30 in the morning. Before the sun comes up. It’s true. Just trust me on this one. So, In an attempt to encourage the boy to sleep in a bit, I asked Josh to drape our navy blue fleece blanket over the curtain rod of the last bare window last night. Well, it worked like a charm. Not only did Jude sleep until 6:30am (heaven. pure heaven.), but when he went down for his nap in our newly darkened room, he slept for more than two and a half hours! WOO HOO! *pumps fist in the air*
Since Josh is off tomorrow, he’s going to try to give me some time to make the final curtain for our room. Once I get that done, I’ll hopefully be able to bang out two curtains for the playroom/Jude’s room over the next few weeks.
Who am I kidding? I’ll be lucky if the boy has curtains by the time he’s fourteen.
