Vacation Now? Please?

Yesterday I actually felt like I accomplished something. Jude and I played outside and went grocery shopping in the morning; he napped well and had a good lunch; we made it to Lincoln Park to spend some time with Josh in the midst of his 16-hour work day; and I made pizza for the boy once we got home. Shower time went well, and bedtime was easy.

That was yesterday.

For around two weeks now, it has been pure miserable chaos in the Frank home. Josh has been working a lot, which means I’ve been on my own with Jude a lot, and Jude has been grumpy, grumpy, grumpy. I can’t pinpoint the problem; I suspect it has something to do with two-year molars, not sleeping/napping well, and (possibly) feeling a bit under the weather. My patience has been worn down, my temper is getting shorter by the minute. I am exhausted. I am cranky. I am SO looking forward to a week off with my husband.

And, so you don’t think we’ve all been walking around with scowls on our faces, I relay this short anecdote: Josh and I bought Jude his first pair of sunglasses earlier this week. We thought it might take a while to get him to agree to wear them. We were wrong. Jude asks for them upon waking in the morning, and has a fit if you try to take them away from him. He’s a rock star. We’ve started calling him Bono.
